NIHR SSCR annual conference – postponement
The NIHR School for Social Care Research’s annual conference provides us with an opportunity to bring together the adult social care research community (those doing, using or interested in research) to share findings from the School’s research, hear from experts and practice colleagues in the adult social care field, and provide an opportunity for colleagues to network with others.
Unfortunately as a result of the growing concerns around COVID-19 we have made the difficult decision to postpone this year’s annual conference from 7 April 2020 to September 2020.
We have taken some time to think about whether this is the best course of action, not just in terms of guidance on hosting events at LSE but also in prioritising the health and safety those involved in organising the conference and all of our speakers and delegates. It is difficult to know what the implications of COVID-19 will be for ongoing activities and events, but we felt this decision needed to be made sooner rather than being taken too close to the date of the conference.
We do appreciate that this will be disappointing. We are currently reviewing possible dates for September and hope to be able to share a revised date for the conference in the coming weeks.
