My research focusses on the experiences of children and young people involved in unpaid care and affected by social care services. I use qualitative research methods to understand inequalities and meaning-making linked to family care. I use an inter-disciplinary approach to develop new methods, frameworks and lines of inquiry that contribute to an understanding of lives affected by care.
The focus of my capacity building fellowship was to disseminate research on young carers from my PhD research. I developed my knowledge of participatory research methods with children and young people. I also explored new themes and areas of contribution to social care research by bringing together insights from PhD and postdoctoral work.
