Staff profile

I have been principal investigator for number of studies relating to social care in the criminal justice system including in prison, and on release. The studies have focussed on both men and women, ‘low level’ social care needs and peer supporters. I am currently co-principal investigator on two large studies (a feasibility study evaluating our dementia care pathway and training package in prison and an NIHR programme grant evaluating a coordinated approach to screening, assessing and care coordination for social care in prison including a realist informed feasibility and definitive RCT).

My Career Development award, ‘Enabling a social-care based workforce to appropriately support older adults with dementia and Mild Cognitive Impairment who are residing in prison’, enabled me to write papers relating to dementia in prison and to submit a funding application for a feasibility study of our dementia in prison care pathway and training package (DECISION).
