People who fund their own care often pay higher fees and may not seek council help until their savings/assets fall below £23,250. Once eligible for council support, individuals face challenges such as relocation, financial contributions from families, or adjusted service agreements.
This project explored the experiences of stakeholders involved (care home managers, residents and families, council staff, and independent advisers), aiming to identify patterns and gaps in understanding with a view to improving the transition process.
