I completed my BSc in Medical Science at the University of Leeds in 2021, followed by an MSc in Psychology in 2022. For the past 3.5 years, I have been working in the charity sector with Age UK Sheffield, specialising in supporting people living with dementia in the community. I began my role as a Community Development Worker delivering the dementia cafes while completing my MSc, and recently left as the Senior Community Projects Lead, where I managed five services for the charity.
I am excited to contribute to a range of research projects that focus on co-production and creating meaningful impact, while continuing to build my research skills. One project that I am looking forward to being involved in is the TEC-LD project, a co-produced study exploring how everyday technology can be safely used to support adults with learning disabilities. I am passionate about bridging the gap between academic research and real-world practice.
Elsie’s research interests include:
- Ageing
- Dementia
- Co-production and research that improves inclusion
